A Cup Poured
in Covenant.
Kirsch Coffee was founded on the belief that how you source, roast, and sell coffee is a moral act — an expression of the values you carry. We are a faith-based company. We are not shy about that. And we believe the world's finest coffee deserves to carry a story worth telling.
✦ May your cup runneth over. ✦
Psalm 23:5
The soil remembers
what we plant in it.
High in the volcanic highlands of Ethiopia, at altitudes above 1,800 meters, coffee plants grow slowly and deliberately in rich, mineral-dense soil. The farmers who tend these plants are third and fourth-generation growers. They know their land the way a shepherd knows each sheep by name.
We visit our partner farms personally — not on press trips, not via Zoom. We sit at their tables, we taste their water, we pray with their families. That relationship is the foundation of every bag of Kirsch Coffee that reaches your hands.
"He who tends a fig tree will eat its fruit, and he who cares for his master will be honored." — Proverbs 27:18
The Kirsch Covenant
Single Source
Every bean we roast is traceable to its exact origin — a named farm, cooperative, or estate. We reject commodity coffee. We partner directly with small-lot growers who tend their land as faithful stewards of creation.
Certified Organic
No synthetic pesticides, no chemical fertilizers, no shortcuts. Our entire catalog is USDA Organic certified. Clean soil produces clean coffee, and clean coffee honors the body that God designed.
Roasted with Purpose
Our head roaster prays over every batch. That may sound unusual in the specialty coffee world. We find it essential. Each roast profile is developed patiently — never rushed — to express what the bean was always meant to be.
Faith & Commerce
A portion of every sale supports missionary work and clean water initiatives in the growing regions where our farmers live. When you buy Kirsch Coffee, the blessing flows back to the source.
Our Journey
A Kitchen Roaster and a Prayer
Kirsch Coffee began on a back porch in Nashville with a cast-iron pan, a bag of green Ethiopian beans, and a quiet conviction that something extraordinary was possible. Founder Daniel Kirsch had just returned from a short-term mission trip to the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia, where he met farmers whose coffee was transcendent — and whose income was not. He came home changed.
The First Covenant
After two years of home roasting and building relationships, Daniel signed Kirsch Coffee's first direct-trade agreement with the Kochere Cooperative in Ethiopia — 120 smallholder farmers who agreed to exclusive supply in exchange for a price floor 40% above the commodity market. The Covenant Blend was born from that agreement and remains our flagship to this day.
Organic Certification
Every farm in our supply chain achieved full USDA Organic certification. The process took years of patient documentation, soil remediation, and trust-building. We chose to absorb the cost rather than pass it along to our farmers. It was, we believed, the right thing to do.
The Reserve Program
We launched the Kirsch Reserve — a rotating selection of extraordinary single-origins available in limited quantities. Our Panama Gesha "Transfiguration" release sold out in four hours. The Reserve program exists to celebrate the full creative potential of coffee as an agricultural product.
Expanding the Table
Kirsch Coffee expanded into artisan teas and single-serve K-Pods, ensuring that our commitment to organic, traceable, purposeful sourcing extends to every format we offer. The table grows larger. The welcome remains the same.
Taste the
Difference Purpose Makes.
Every bag you open, every cup you brew carries the story of a farmer, a faith, and a conviction that excellence is a form of worship. We invite you to be part of that story.
